One of the cornerstones of Hive's philosophy is community-oriented governance. By July 2025:
Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO): Hive has its own DAO funded from the HBD pool, allowing the community to vote on proposals for project development, funding initiatives, and other key decisions.
Voting for Witness: Hive Power holders vote for block producers (Witnesses), determining who will manage the network's infrastructure.
Community Development Fund: A portion of the blockchain's revenue is directed to the DAO to support projects that benefit the entire ecosystem. This model ensures that Hive's development aligns with the interests of its users and developers, rather than being controlled by a single central entity.
