Murder for the sake of the crypt: a shocking case was solved in New Zealand
A resident of New Zealand is accused of murdering a 79-year-old mother to hide crypto fraud. According to the investigation, Julia DeLuney forged income reports to convince her mother of the profitability of investments and get money from her for "withdrawal".
In total, the victim gave his daughter $9,000. Later, the woman was found dead, and DeLuney reported an accident. However, the forensic examination recorded a blunt head injury.
The investigation showed that the daughter transferred more than $90,000 to crypto exchanges, some of which belonged to the mother. According to Chainalysis, it was the blockchain that helped to establish the movement of funds and refute the version of accidental death. The trial continues.
