Donald #TRUMP , the President of the United States, once again lashed out at #JeromePowell the head of the #FederalReserve , expressing dissatisfaction with the central bank’s performance.
Speaking on Monday at a gathering of religious figures at the White House, Trump called Powell a “clown” and urged him to lower interest rates. Trump said, “He’s a clown. He’s a fool. He really is.”
Justifying a rate cut, Trump claimed that inflation is not currently a serious concern for the country’s economy and that interest rates should be reduced to one percent.
Trump’s harsh criticism and repeated attacks on Powell have raised concerns about his attempts to undermine the independence of the U.S. Federal Reserve.
