According to Odaily, Brazil has established a 'Negotiation and Trade Countermeasures Committee' to assess the potential economic impact of U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a 50% tariff on Brazilian goods. The committee will also discuss possible responses to the tariff.

Brazil's Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, and Trade, Geraldo Alckmin, announced at a press conference on the 14th that the committee will hold meetings with industrial and agricultural sectors on the 15th. Alckmin emphasized that engaging in extensive dialogue with exporters is the Brazilian government's initial step in addressing the Trump administration's tariff policy.

Alckmin stated that if the U.S. tariff policy is implemented, Brazil will take countermeasures. He chairs the committee, which will also facilitate meetings between Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and various business leaders.
