Shiba Inu will receive quantum-resistant protection
A key feature of Shib Identity is fully homomorphic encryption (FHE). This technology allows processing of encrypted data without compromising security, ensuring that user information remains confidential throughout the verification process.
"FHE is a complex technology, but it offers a unique advantage: resilience not only to today's threats but also to future ones associated with quantum computers," noted the Shiba Inu team.
The team plans to integrate Shib Identity with the existing naming service Shib Name Service (SNS), expanding it beyond wallet naming into a full-fledged identification platform with FHE-based protection. Developers aim to make SNS useful not only in Web3 but also in regular internet domains, linking crypto-native profiles with mainstream digital services.
"The team working on SNS is laying the groundwork for ICANN approval. This will allow the use of *.shib names as standard web domains, connecting crypto-native identities with the broader internet," they explained.
