PANews, July 14 - After SpaceX prepares to invest $2 billion in xAI, Musk stated that Tesla's plan is to hold a shareholder vote on whether to invest in xAI. In response to a post on X, Musk said that any decision supporting xAI is ultimately not one he can make. Last year, Musk publicly asked X users if Tesla should invest $5 billion in xAI, at which time he wrote that he was just testing the waters. However, he indicated that Tesla's board and supporters need to give the green light for this decision. In April of this year, Tesla disclosed that xAI was a customer of Tesla last year, resulting in $188.3 million in expenditures from a commercial, consulting, and support agreement signed with Tesla. Most of this transaction ($191 million) involved xAI purchasing Tesla's utility-scale energy storage batteries, Megapack.
