PANews reported on July 13 that MEET48, the first global Web3.0 community focused on the entertainment sector, which encompasses AI agents, AI-generated user content (AIGUC), and fan economy ecology, announced the interim results of the first WEB3.0 Global Idol Annual Popularity Finals (The 1st Web3.0 All-Community Annual Idol Popularity Audition & Ceremony, abbreviated as WIPA).

As of the WIPA interim report, a total of over 21.86 million IDOL has been collected, accounting for 0.45% of the total IDOL supply, setting a historical record in the Web3 entertainment sector. According to official MEET48 news, the IDOL consumed by the time the final results of WIPA are announced is expected to reach 2.33% of the total IDOL supply. Data from DappRadar shows that the active Dapp of MEET48 has reached 117.46k on-chain transactions in the past 30 days, with the number of active user addresses (UAW) reaching 70.44k.

WIPA is the world's first pioneering attempt to introduce blockchain mechanisms into the idol selection system, formed as a global strategic partnership between MEET48 and China's large youth girl group SNH48 GROUP. The final voting will officially close on August 2, 2025, at 4:00 UTC, and the final results will be announced live at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong, China.

Previously, MEET48 announced the completion of its token financing, receiving investments from numerous professional institutions and individuals, including YZi Labs, co-founder of Fosun Group Liang Xinjun, Hash Global, HashKey Capital, and Animoca. It also received a Twitter retweet from CZ with the caption 'Fan economy + BNB Chain'. The BNB Chain Foundation also officially announced the purchase of $25,000 worth of MEET48's official token IDOL.
