My advice for newcomers to StonFi — no fluff, based on personal experience
When I first landed on StonFi, I thought it was one of the friendliest DEXs I had worked with. But even with such a user-friendly interface, there are nuances that I only understood through experience.
If you're just joining — here are 7 things you should know BEFORE you deposit your TON.
🔹 1. Start small.
Swap a couple of TON for jUSDT or another token. See how it works. Don't throw your entire deposit into farming right away — DeFi favors the patient.
🔹 2. Add liquidity — consciously.
It seems: you deposit a couple of TON + USDT, you farm. In reality: you might face impermanent loss, especially if the assets are volatile.
🔹 3. Don't forget to claim rewards.
Rewards in STON don't come by themselves — you need to claim them manually. Do this every 2-3 days. Don't accumulate unnecessarily.
🔹 4. Watch the APY.
Don't fall for '100% annual' — these are variable values. It's better to calculate manually: how much you invested, how much you received.
🔹 5. Check the fees before bridging.
If you're depositing USDT from Ethereum — watch the fees. Sometimes it's easier to buy jUSDT directly within the TON network.
🔹 6. Keep your portfolio flexible.
I, for example, distribute:
• 40% — in the TON/WBTC pool
• 30% — in swaps
• 30% — I just keep TON handy
🔹 7. Don't be afraid to experiment.
StonFi is a great DeFi sandbox. Even if you were only on Binance before — you can learn everything here: farming, pools, decentralized swaps, rewards, bridges.
👀 I continue to keep a diary of my experience, with real screenshots and numbers. In the next post, I'll show how my income changed after moving to the TON/WBTC pool and why I went there.
