US President Donald Trump announced the introduction of 30% tariffs on goods from the European Union starting August 1, 2025. The new tariffs will apply independently of previously imposed sectoral tariffs.
"Starting August 1, 2025, we will impose a 30% tariff on EU goods sent to the US, separately from all sectoral tariffs," Mr. Trump wrote on the social network Truth Social.
