$BTC
Bitcoin reached a new all-time high, surpassing the price of $118,000 (100,000 euros) on Friday. This followed an enthusiastic day on American stock exchanges on Thursday, when the main technology companies index, Nasdaq, hit a record value.
Interest in Bitcoin was driven by optimistic forecasts regarding trading high-risk assets and the desire to invest in technology companies like Nvidia, whose valuation recently rose to $4 trillion.
The record Bitcoin price also comes just days before the start of what the U.S. House of Representatives described as one of the two chambers of Congress, "Cryptocurrency Week," starting on July 14. Lawmakers are expected to debate a series of bills that could define the regulatory framework for the industry in the United States.
Bitcoin has gained over 20% against the U.S. dollar this year.
