A strategist from Pimco, the world's largest bond management company, stated that Trump is likely to follow traditional practices when choosing the next Federal Reserve chair. Pimco's Chief Investment Officer for Global Fixed Income, Andrew Balls, mentioned that the rumored candidates 'all seem to be very suitable candidates.' Although Powell's term doesn't end until May of next year, Trump has already indicated that he has several candidates in mind. Popular candidates include Kevin Warsh, Kevin Hasset, and the current Federal Reserve governor Christopher Waller, who was officially nominated by Trump in 2020. Treasury Secretary Scott Basset is also under consideration.
