Sharplink Buys 10,000 ETH Directly from Ethereum Foundation ๐งพ๐ฅ
Sharplink Gaming has purchased 10,000 ETH directly from the Ethereum Foundation in an OTC (over-the-counter) deal. The price was locked in at $2,572.37 per $ETH , just before the market pushed ETH above $3,000.
๐น Sharplink now holds 202,000 ETH total, with some staked or used for liquid restaking.
๐น The Ethereum Foundation confirmed the sale, moving ETH from its multisig wallet.

The deal raised some eyebrows since it didn't affect market price like public buys (e.g., MicroStrategy's $BTC buys). However, Sharplink says this approach supports Ethereum directly and transparently.
Meanwhile, the Ethereum Foundation also sold 1,210 ETH for $3.5M $USDC and sent 1,000 ETH to Gnosis Safe. They still hold over 198,000 ETH and may continue using funds for operations, staking, or grants.
