Techub News reports that Sophia Gold, a developer from the Ethereum Foundation, stated that the L1 zkEVM will launch on the Ethereum mainnet, significantly increasing the gas limit while achieving native zk-rollup support without sacrificing security, liveliness, and censorship resistance. As a first step, the Ethereum Foundation's zkEVM team has proposed a realtime proving standard aimed at achieving local proving operations in office buildings and even some residences. Relevant parameters include: maintaining mainnet block P99 latency under 10 seconds; local device investment not exceeding $100,000; power consumption not exceeding 10 kW; fully open-source; security level of at least 128 bits; proof size not exceeding 300 KiB, and no trusted setup required. Sophia expects that with the accelerated progress of multiple zkVMs, this goal is likely to be achieved before the Devconnect Argentina conference in November this year.
