According to Foresight News, Ethereum Foundation developer Sophia Gold stated that L1 zkEVM is about to land on the Ethereum mainnet, which will significantly increase the gas limit while achieving native zk-rollup support without sacrificing security, liveness, and censorship resistance.

As the first step, the Ethereum Foundation zkEVM team has proposed a real-time proving standard, aiming to achieve local proof computation in office buildings and even some residences, with relevant parameters including:

Mainnet block P99 delay is controlled within 10 seconds; local device investment does not exceed $100,000; power consumption does not exceed 10kW; fully open source; security level of at least 128 bits; proof size does not exceed 300KiB, and no trusted setup is required.

Sophia expects that with the accelerated progress of multiple zkVMs, this goal is likely to be achieved before the Devconnect Argentina conference in November this year. She stated, 'The future of the Ethereum execution layer has arrived.'
