🚨🇮🇳 AIR INDIA CRASH: ACCORDING TO IT'S A PILOT ERROR NOT BOEING
U.S. officials say that the deadly Air India 787 accident was not a failure of Boeing or its engines... it was HUMAN. Investigators believe that the pilots manually turned off the fuel switches mid-flight, cutting thrust just after takeoff.
✈️ Those switches are protected by a metal mechanism that must be intentionally lifted and are covered to prevent accidental activation. They are only used to start engines or in emergencies. It is nearly impossible to move them accidentally: "You can't bump them and have them move," says safety expert John Cox.
Flight AI171 crashed 32 seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad, killing 241 of the 242 people on board and 19 on the ground. The only survivor was a passenger. It is the first total loss of a Boeing 787 in its history and the deadliest accident in India since 1996.
The black boxes show that the emergency RAT (ram air turbine) system activated automatically when the engines failed. There is no evidence of mechanical failure, fuel contamination, or issues with the flaps. Boeing and GE have not issued any safety alerts.
❓ Why would they move those switches seconds after takeoff when there is no margin for recovery? Catastrophic error or intentional act? The preliminary report comes out on Friday. Air India is already facing scandals for falsifying safety records.
