According to Odaily, the U.S. Senate has confirmed Jonathan Gould as the Director of the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) with a vote of 50 to 45. Gould, who previously served as the Chief Legal Officer at Bitfury, will now await final approval from U.S. President Donald Trump. Gould has also held positions as the OCC's Chief Counsel and Deputy Comptroller.

This year, the OCC has implemented several crypto-friendly measures, including permitting U.S. banks to engage in proprietary trading of crypto assets. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives is expediting the process of stablecoin legislation. Next week, a "Crypto Week" will be held to review the GENIUS Act, which mandates that stablecoins be fully backed by high-liquidity assets such as the U.S. dollar. Additionally, issuers with a market capitalization exceeding $50 billion will be subject to annual audits.
