According to data for the first half of 2025, as of June 30, the total number of cryptocurrency ATMs increased from 37,722 on January 1 to 38,726, representing a net increase of 1,004 devices worldwide.
The United States leads, having started the year with a setback. In the first quarter of 2025, there was a net decrease in the number of Bitcoin ATMs in the U.S. by 185 units, from 30,119 to 29,934. However, in the second quarter, this trend changed dramatically, with 513 ATMs installed, resulting in a total of 30,447 by the end of June.
The largest relative increase was in Australia, where 491 new ATMs were added in the first half of the year — 272 in the first quarter and 219 in the second quarter. The total number of ATMs in the country grew from 1,385 to 1,876.
In Canada, 245 ATMs were installed in the first half of the year, with their distribution evenly split across quarters: 122 and 123.
Europe also saw growth, although more modest: 86 ATMs in the first quarter and 63 in the second quarter, totaling 149 ATMs.
