According to Coin World, on July 10, Uzbekistan's national payment system HUMO announced the issuance of a government bond-backed cryptocurrency through its subsidiary, HUMO Digital. The token has been registered in the unified electronic cryptocurrency asset registration system maintained by the National Project Promotion Agency (NAPP) of Uzbekistan, with oversight of the token's collateral and safekeeping provided by the Asterium crypto custodian. The HUMO token offers instant automatic fiat conversion, no intermediary delays, lower transaction costs, and complete transparency and security based on blockchain technology. As a national payment system with over 35 million cards issued, HUMO aims to attract foreign investment, simplify business payments, and enhance financial transparency through this project. The system has established direct relationships with global payment systems such as Visa, MasterCard, and UnionPay, and is actively expanding integrations with multiple countries including Georgia and Kazakhstan.
