The administration of the bankrupt FTX exchange has filed a motion to suspend payments to creditors from countries with restrictions on cryptocurrency transfers. In response, one of the largest creditors, Weiwei Ji, challenged this decision in court. He resides in Singapore but is considered a 'Chinese' creditor due to his passport. The plaintiff notes that payments in US dollars are legal in China.
Ji and more than 300 other creditors have filed an objection, stating that they have met all requirements for filing claims totaling over $15 million. They believe that the suspension of payments is 'arbitrary and unfair.' They demand that payments continue to all permitted jurisdictions.
