$SOL OpenSea continues its expansion beyond NFT trading.

The acquisition represents a boost for OpenSea to enter the mobile sector and unify the experience of token and NFT trading. In a post on X, Maddern stated that they are working on a product that "grows the on-chain economy for creators, collectors, and traders."

OpenSea's Chief Technology Officer said that the vision is to create a platform that allows tokens to complement NFTs rather than compete with them. He also noted that decentralized finance (DeFi) and perpetual futures contracts, or "perps," should be simple and accessible.

Maddern mentioned that OpenSea is taking the mobile sector seriously, as that is where users spend most of their time. He added that OpenSea is also exploring artificial intelligence to make cryptocurrencies safer and more understandable for users.

Maddern did not provide further details on how OpenSea plans to integrate AI technology into its mobile platform.

Cointelegraph reached out to OpenSea for more information, but had not received a response at the time of publishing this article.
