PANews, July 9th - According to CoinDesk, starting January 1, 2026, cryptocurrency users in the UK will be required to submit information including full name, date of birth, address, country of residence, and tax identification number to service providers, or they may face a fine of up to £300 (approximately $408). The UK’s HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) stated that this measure aims to link users' cryptocurrency activities to their tax records in order to calculate tax liabilities. This regulation applies to all businesses classified as cryptocurrency service providers, including exchanges, wallet applications, NFT marketplaces, and cryptocurrency asset management services.
