Judge Katherine Failla stated that she is likely to prohibit mentioning the U.S. Treasury sanctions against Tornado Cash in the case of Roman Storm. These sanctions, imposed in August 2022, were lifted in March after a ruling by another court.
Failla clarified that mentioning the involvement of the Lazarus Group and North Korea will remain possible, but discussing the sanctions can no longer take place. According to her, Storm should not be held accountable for measures that were ultimately revoked.
