$BNB Chain reduces its block time to 0.8 seconds after the Maxwell update
The Maxwell update of the BNB Smart Chain includes three major proposals aimed at improving scalability, validator synchronization, and the overall efficiency of the network. The Maxwell update is now live, and the average block times have dropped to 0.8 seconds, down from 1.5 seconds last Monday.
One of the goals of this hard fork was precisely to halve the time required to produce a block.
According to BNB Chain, this evolution will accelerate transactions for users, improve the responsiveness of decentralized applications (DApps), reduce latency in decentralized finance (DeFi), enhance scalability and synchronization among validators, and optimize the overall efficiency of the network.
"This is not just an update. It is a technological leap that enables faster blocks, better coordination among validators, and smoother network performance," said the BNB Chain team.
