Semler Scientific and Metaplanet continue to strongly "accumulate" Bitcoin

While Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) temporarily halts Bitcoin purchases, other companies like #SemlerScientific and Metaplanet are accelerating the accumulation of this digital asset. Both made large purchase transactions on July 7.

Expanding Bitcoin treasury

Semler Scientific, an American healthcare technology company, purchased an additional 187 BTC for 20 million USD, raising its total Bitcoin holdings to 4,636 BTC (over 500 million USD). Semler aims to hold 105,000 $BTC by 2027 and is using solutions such as issuing bonds, borrowing, or offering shares to raise capital.

Metaplanet (Japan) also purchased an additional 2,205 BTC worth nearly 239 million USD, raising its total BTC holdings to 15,555 BTC (approximately 1.7 billion USD).

Performance and general trends

Both Semler and Metaplanet reported the BTC Yield index (the ratio between the amount of BTC held and the number of shares outstanding), indicating the level of Bitcoin leverage per share. #metaplanet reached a BTC Yield of 416% since the beginning of the year, while Semler achieved 29%.

However, the stock performance of the two companies is contrasting: Metaplanet's stock increased by 335% since the beginning of the year, while Semler's stock (SMLR) decreased by nearly 28%.

The trend of public companies accumulating Bitcoin is increasing. According to bitcointreasuries.net, publicly listed companies currently hold over 852,000 BTC. The price of Bitcoin remains stable around 107,903 USD, just 3.64% lower than its all-time high.
