Think you found a 'leaked' wallet full of tokens? It's not luck, but a clever trap. Here’s how scammers trick trusting users:
Step 1: Bait
Malefactors spread 'seed phrases' in Telegram chats, comments on X, or dubious Discord servers. The wallet appears to be filled with valuable tokens to make you believe in a random leak.
Step 2: Hook
Curious users import the seed phrase into MetaMask and see assets. But when trying to transfer tokens, it turns out that ETH is needed to pay for gas. The victim sends their ETH to this wallet.
Step 3: Theft
As soon as ETH arrives, the bot instantly transfers it to another address. The wallet is initially under the control of scammers. What really happens:
Tokens are fake or cannot be transferred. You lose your real ETH. Scammers profit from everyone who believed in 'easy money'.
How to protect yourself: Never use someone else's seed phrases. Do not transfer$ETH to unfamiliar wallets. Ask yourself: 'Why would someone give away money?' Tell your friends about this — they could be the next victims. Stay vigilant! In the world of cryptocurrency, if something seems too good to be true, it’s almost always a scam.$BTC $BNB
