$Billionaire from the United States (US) Elon Musk has claimed to have founded a new political party, which he refers to as the America Party.
The owner of companies Tesla, SpaceX, and X (Twitter) stated that the America Party will restore the freedom of its people in governance.
"With a 2 to 1 factor, you want a new political party and you will get it!" Musk wrote on X, a day after he posted a poll on the platform asking his followers whether they support the formation of the "America Party" or not.
As one of the richest and most influential people in the world, Musk aims for his political party to gain 2 or 3 seats in the Senate, as well as 8 to 10 seats in the local House of Representatives.
"Given the very slim legislative margins, that would be enough to be a decisive voice on controversial legislation, ensuring that the laws serve the true desires of the people," Musk said last Friday.
Nevertheless, Musk's party has not yet registered with the Federal Election Committee, and he has not yet announced where his party will register.
He only emphasized that his party will hold caucuses independently to participate in the US political arena and will conduct "legislative discussions with both parties in the US (Democrats and Republicans)," Musk wrote while responding to a conversation with a user on X.
As is known, Elon Musk has been actively involved in US politics, especially since 2024, being the largest donor to the campaigns of candidates from the Republican Party, namely Donald Trump.
He is recorded to have donated more than US$ 280 million throughout the US election cycle that year, primarily to Trump, although there were also donations to other Republican candidates.
There are suspicions that Musk will no longer remain behind the scenes to enter the political landscape in the US. He is predicted to choose to get involved in the congressional elections in 2026.
