📈 Cryptocurrency exchanges have started trading US stocks: Robinhood vs. xStocks 🌐
Since the end of May, several cryptocurrency platforms have begun offering tokenized shares of traditional companies, and among them stand out two players — Robinhood and xStocks. Both approaches have their unique features.
Robinhood, a well-known American broker, launches stock tokens on the Arbitrum blockchain with restrictions for unauthorized participants. Their tokens cannot be freely transferred to external addresses, which introduces additional regulatory risks. The broker also plans to create a premarket for trading shares of private companies, such as SpaceX.
xStocks, on the other hand, operates on the Solana blockchain and adheres to a 1:1 token model. This means that each token corresponds to one share. xStocks allows users to freely exchange tokens, bypassing strict KYC/AML requirements, making them more accessible to a global audience.
Thus, the choice between platforms depends on investors' preferences: whether they desire freedom in trading or prefer reliability and oversight from a well-known broker.
