Bit Digital Bets Big: $172M in Ethereum on 10x Treasury Growth Forecast
Bit Digital's treasury rose beyond 100,000 ETH after a $172 million public offering and Bitcoin sale.

After Bit Digital (BTBT) revealed it had spent $172 million and profits from a 280 BTC sale to increase its treasury to 100,603 ETH, Ethereum (ETH) stayed steadily over $2,500 on Monday. The acquisition follows CF Benchmarks' estimate of a 10x increase in corporations incorporating ETH and SOL on their balance sheets.

After adding 100,603 ETH to its balance, Nasdaq-listed Bit Digital became one of the biggest ETH treasury firms. This is approximately 300% more than its first-quarter 2025 balance of 24,434 ETH.
The company's new ETH treasury strategy was funded by last week's $172 million public offering and the sale of 280 BTC. The acquisition follows last month's news that the business will mine ETH instead of Bitcoin.
Sam Tabar, Bit Digital's CEO, said the business would double down to capitalize on Ethereum's long-term promise.
"We are starting with exposure to over 100K ETH for now, but we intend to aggressively add more so we become the preeminent ETH holding company in the world," stated.
Bit Digital joins top ETH treasury allocator SharpLink Gaming (SBET) and BitMine (BMNR), who raised $250 million last week to acquire ETH.
ETH treasury firms are rising together with stablecoins, where Ethereum leads with 50% market share, according to DefiLlama.
He noted that ETH treasury businesses might lead to a ten-fold increase in institutions holding ETH and SOL in the following year.
The CoinShares weekly report shows that Ethereum investment products have had net inflows for eleven straight weeks, with institutional investors investing $226 million last week.
