#TrumpTariffs $BTC Trump Tariffs
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, said on his social network Truth that he sent letters to 14 countries, including South Africa, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Kazakhstan, Thailand, and Tunisia, in addition to Japan and South Korea, warning of the imposition of customs duties ranging from 25% to 40% if they do not reach an agreement with Washington.
Trump indicated that he is taking this measure because trade relations with Japan and Korea are, unfortunately, far from being reciprocal, although he expressed openness to reconsidering these tariffs if the affected countries change their tax policies regarding American products.
Japan's Prime Minister, Shigeru Ishib, had said on Sunday that he would not easily concede in trade talks with Washington.
