According to TechFlow news, on July 8, tBTC has now been launched on Sui, promoting further prosperity in the Sui ecosystem's BTCFi. The team behind tBTC is Threshold Network, which aims to empower Bitcoin in DeFi while retaining the minimal trust security model of Bitcoin.
Through this cooperation, users can directly mint tBTC on the Sui network and efficiently utilize Bitcoin capital through DeFi protocols that support instant settlement and ultra-low fees. tBTC will be fully available on Sui, supporting scenarios such as trading, lending, collateral, and yield strategies. This integration will first activate Bitcoin liquidity in four native Sui protocols: Bluefin, Bucket, AlphaLend, and AlphaFi.
It is reported that through this cooperation, Sui will become the first non-EVM public chain to support the direct minting of tBTC in Threshold applications, thereby enhancing accessibility and further consolidating its position as the preferred platform for Bitcoin liquidity. The Sui ecosystem's BTCFi continues to develop, with nearly 600 BTC bridged into Sui since February, and BTC-supported assets now account for over 10% of Sui's total locked value (TVL).
