Mark Zuckerberg is Meta, Bill Gates is Microsoft, and Elon Musk is Tesla, but why does no one know the CEO of Google? This is Sundar Pichai, the invisible king
How many people know the name of the CEO of Google? Much fewer than any of those we have mentioned so far. But his name is Sundar Pichai. And his ideology has colored, for better or worse, the last fifteen years of Google.
Sundar Pichai was born in Madurai, India, on June 10, 1972. But far from being a story of overcoming adversity, we are once again facing a case of a person well positioned from birth. With a stenographer mother and an engineer father at the largest British electrical conglomerate, GEC, Pichai was born into a wealthy family. This allowed him to have a more than respectable education, graduating from Stanford in engineering and materials science and obtaining an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
After graduating, he did not start working immediately at Google. He first worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and later in management consulting at McKinsey & Company. And it is interesting to pause here for a moment, because 17 Fortune 500 CEOs have previously worked at McKinsey. Why?
It is because McKinsey & Company is a multinational dedicated to management consulting, providing professional services to corporations, governments, and other organizations.
