#TrumpTariffs

As of July 2025, the "Trump Tariffs" refer to a series of steep protective tariffs enacted by President Donald Trump during his second term, significantly impacting nearly all goods imported into the United States. While a 10% baseline tariff is generally applied to most imports, the administration has also imposed much higher "reciprocal" tariffs on various trading partners, with rates as high as 50% on steel and aluminum and 25% on automobiles and parts. A 90-day suspension on these higher reciprocal tariffs is set to expire on July 9, 2025, after which countries that haven't reached new trade deals with the US could face sharply increased duties, with many expected to take effect from August 1, 2025
