Donald Trump stated that his administration plans to start sending letters on Monday to U.S. trading partners to impose new tariffs, amidst confusion regarding the effective date of these new tariffs.

While the previously announced 90-day tariff pause was set to end on July 9, the president was asked whether the new tariffs would take effect this week or on August 1, as some officials had suggested.
