⚡️ Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has announced the launch of a new project — a decentralized messenger called BitChat, which allows users to exchange messages without an internet connection.
How does it work?
🔴 Direct connection: The app uses Bluetooth Mesh technology. Users’ devices connect directly to each other, creating a local network without relying on central servers, Wi-Fi, or cellular networks.
🔴 Guaranteed delivery: Thanks to a “store-and-forward” model, messages are passed from one device to another in a chain until they reach the recipient. The message will be delivered even if the recipient was offline at the time it was sent.
🔴 Minimalist design: The app’s interface is simple and reminiscent of classic chat systems (like IRC), making it convenient for quick communication, especially in groups.
The app is currently available for beta testing on iOS via TestFlight.
