PANews July 7 news, according to Cryptonews, the Russian Ministry of Energy is preparing a national registry of cryptocurrency mining equipment to combat illegal mining and increase tax revenue. The plan is being promoted by the Ministry of Energy in conjunction with the Federal Tax Service and the Ministry of Digital Development, and the registry will become a central database for mining equipment nationwide. Deputy Minister of Energy Petr Konyushenko stated that the draft has been sent to areas with active mining. He mentioned that this registry would allow Moscow to accurately identify entities mining cryptocurrency using domestic electricity, facilitating regulatory and tax authorities to ensure miners comply with the law, helping to increase tax revenue. Konyushenko also stated that this is a measure to promote the legalization of the industry and reduce illegal energy consumption. Currently, legal cryptocurrency mining activities in Russia are increasing, but illegal mining is also rampant, with numerous industrial cryptocurrency mining farms operating in various regions across the country.
