The creation of the party was a direct response to the approval of the controversial fiscal package known as "One Big Beautiful Bill," supported by President Donald Trump.
𧩠Why did Musk create the America Party?
Musk broke with Trump after strongly disagreeing with the bill that, according to him, would increase the public deficit by trillions of dollars.
He stated that the U.S. lives under a "disguised single-party system of two parties" and that the new party would be a way to "return freedom to the people."
The decision was reinforced by a poll conducted by Musk on the social network X (formerly Twitter), where 65% of over 1.2 million voters supported the creation of a new party.
đ§ What is the proposal of the America Party?
Although still without a formal political program, Musk stated that the party:
Will break with the traditional bipartisan system (Democrats and Republicans)
Advocates for individual freedom, governmental efficiency, and combating corruption and waste
Does not intend to launch a presidential candidate (Musk cannot run because he was born outside the U.S.), but rather to influence Congress, focusing on a few strategic seats to disrupt important votes

Musk was previously an ally of Trump and even led the "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) at the beginning of the president's second term.
