The War of Musk and Trump
The public conflict between Musk and Trump began after the billionaire left the position of head of the Department of Government Efficiency, which the US president created specifically for him. At that time, media reports emerged that Trump criticized Musk in the Oval Office.
Sources claimed that the tension between them had been building since spring 2025, when Musk publicly opposed Trump's large-scale tax bill, calling it a "financial disaster." The president, in turn, accused the entrepreneur of misunderstanding economic strategy.
The situation escalated after Musk's statement about potentially winding down the Dragon program, to which Trump responded with threats to reconsider SpaceX contracts with NASA. A true war broke out on social media: Musk hinted at Trump's connection to Jeffrey Epstein and called for impeachment, while Trump suggested the deportation of the Tesla founder from the US.
To oppose the Republicans, whom Musk had previously supported, the billionaire announced the creation of his own party.
