Foresight News reports that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Toni Wahrstätter have jointly proposed EIP-7983, suggesting that the gas limit for a single Ethereum transaction should be set at 16.77 million (unrelated to the block gas limit). The aim is to enhance the network's ability to resist DoS attacks, alleviate issues caused by high gas transactions leading to uneven load, state bloat, and block verification delays, while also optimizing zkVM compatibility and parallel execution efficiency. This proposal is currently in draft stage.
