John Attack, a Bitcoin developer, has been released after his arrest in El Salvador. According to Foresight News, John Attack, a co-developer of the Bitcoin Core project and an American citizen, was arrested in El Salvador over allegations related to a land dispute with one of his neighbors. Attack was accused of violating the comprehensive law for a violence-free life against women. He was released an hour after his arrest. Many Bitcoin developers in the Bitcoin ecosystem expressed their support for Attack and shared his position on social media. Critics, including prominent opinion leaders, described the law as unreasonable. El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele, has also faced accusations under the same law.
