Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin responded in an interview with CNBC in Cannes that institutional investors choose Ethereum not for "scalability" or "speed" but for its stability and reliability.
Buterin stated: “Many organizations have told us directly that they prefer Ethereum because it is stable, reliable, and does not crash.”
According to Buterin, the fact that Ethereum has never experienced a second of downtime in its ten-year history is great news for institutional investors.
In his opening speech at the EthCC event in Paris, Buterin discussed the future development direction of the Ethereum network and the "value test" encountered during this organization's acceleration phase.
Pointing out that organizations are focusing on issues such as "privacy" specifically for the future, Buterin stated that these issues are much more important than the technical infrastructure of the system.
The new CEO of the Ethereum Foundation, Tomasz Stańczak, also supports this view, stating that these core values are the reason why organizations choose ETH: "Ethereum has not experienced any downtime for a second in the past decade. Along with continuous upgrades, it has always remained loyal to security and censorship resistance."
Stańczak also noted that when organizations send orders to the market, they expect their transactions to be executed without discrimination, fairly, on time, and without errors. With stablecoins and tokenized assets becoming increasingly popular, the importance of such definitional guarantees is also growing.
