#OneBigBeautifulBill "The Big Beautiful Bill" is a huge budget reconciliation bill pushed by Republicans and introduced in early 2025. It combines immigration enforcement, tax reforms, cuts to public health, and energy deregulation into a single legislative package.
The main objectives of this bill are to drastically increase the enforcement of immigration laws and deportations, include more funding for ICE and CBP, cut spending on Medicaid, SNAP, and other social programs, reduce corporate and income taxes, as well as expand fossil fuel production and eliminate environmental regulations. According to the Congressional Budget Office, 11.8 million could lose Medicaid; other estimates calculate that number could reach 17 million people without health insurance. With the cuts proposed by the new law, it is estimated that 2 million children are at risk of losing food assistance (SNAP).
