🚨 Breaking: 🇺🇸 U.S. Secret Service Launches Global Operation to Combat Cryptocurrency Fraud
The United States Secret Service has initiated a major global operation targeting cryptocurrency-related investment scams. In collaboration with the FBI, DOJ, Coinbase, and Tether, the agency has seized over $225 million in digital assets—marking the largest crypto-related confiscation in its history.
This operation focused on dismantling so-called "pig butchering" scams, where victims are lured through social engineering and dating apps, then tricked into investing in fake crypto platforms.
Authorities identified over 400 victims worldwide and uncovered a vast network of wallet addresses used to launder illicit funds. Tether froze and later burned the fraudulent USDT tokens, while Coinbase helped trace hundreds of scam transactions.
Victims are encouraged to file a report through the FBI’s IC3 system using reference code BT06182025.
🔒 This marks a significant step in regulating crypto markets and protecting investors globally.
