$140M Stolen in Cyberattack on Central Bank of Brazil Service Provider
On June 30, 2025, hackers breached C&M Software — a service provider to Brazil’s Central Bank — stealing approx. $140M from reserve accounts of six financial institutions.
According to ZachXBT, $30–40M of the stolen funds were laundered via crypto. Notably, the breach was enabled by a C&M employee selling internal credentials for just $2,760, granting attackers full system access.
