Microsoft has suspended about 3,000 known Outlook and Hotmail accounts created by these employees as part of its comprehensive crackdown on North Korean IT employee fraud activities. (Fortune) Previously, crypto detective ZachXBT posted on platform X stating that its investigation found over $16.58 million in payments flowing to North Korean IT personnel hired as developers for various projects and companies since January 1, 2025, averaging $2.76 million per month. Based on a compensation of $3,000 to $8,000 per person per month, this corresponds to at least 345 to 920 positions being infiltrated.
