XRP: What it is and how it was founded
XRP is a prominent cryptocurrency, launched in 2012 by Chris Larsen and Jed McCaleb, backed by the company Ripple. It was designed to improve the efficiency of international payments, significantly reducing the costs and times of traditional transfers.
Unlike other cryptocurrencies, XRP does not rely on mining based on Proof of Work or Proof of Stake. Instead, it uses a consensus algorithm called "RippleNet," which allows for processing up to 1,500 transactions per second.
