Deep Tide TechFlow News, on July 3, according to CNBC, the U.S. government has lifted export restrictions on chip design software to China. Chip design software giants Synopsys and Cadence have both confirmed this news and stated that they are restoring software and technology access for Chinese customers. Previously, on May 23, 2025, the U.S. required multiple companies, including Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens EDA, to obtain licenses before exporting to China. These three companies together account for about 74% of the global electronic design automation (EDA) market share. This move comes after the U.S. and China reached a conditional agreement on trade ceasefire last week, and China has agreed to restore some rare earth and advanced technology exchanges.
