👉JP Morgan registers the JPMD brand and market speculates on possible stablecoin
JP Morgan has filed a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for an offering called "JPMD", which has fueled market speculation about the launch of its own stablecoin.
Speculation has intensified amid the trend of major banks creating their own cryptocurrencies backed by U.S. dollars. In Europe, the French Société Générale and the German Deutsche Bank are already studying similar launches.
