Germany's Largest Bank Launches Crypto Services It Rejected 3 Years Ago!
Germany's largest banking group Sparkassen announced that it has decided to offer cryptocurrency trading services to its individual customers, which it rejected three years ago.
As one of Germany's leading banking institutions, Sparkassen is finally stepping into the cryptocurrency market. The group stated that it plans to launch cryptocurrency buying and selling services for individual customers in the summer of 2026. This decision signifies a major policy shift after Sparkassen rejected a proposal related to digital assets three years ago.
According to the announcement from Sparkassen Group, customers will be able to easily buy and sell cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) directly through their bank accounts. With this move, the group will take its place among the large traditional banks entering the digital asset sector.
Three years ago, Sparkassen turned down a similar service proposal on the grounds of “high risk” and preferred to stay away from the cryptocurrency market. However, over the past years, with the maturation of the market and the increasing interest in digital assets in Germany, the bank's views seem to have changed.
With this move, the adoption of cryptocurrency in Germany is expected to accelerate further, and other financial institutions are anticipated to take similar steps. Considering Sparkassen's large customer base, this step could significantly speed up the integration of cryptocurrencies into the mainstream financial world across the country.
