According to Odaily, a report by Web3 security firm CertiK reveals that security incidents in the Web3 sector led to losses of nearly $2.5 billion in the first half of 2025, with net losses amounting to $2.29 billion, surpassing the total losses of the previous year. Phishing attacks emerged as the most significant threat, causing approximately $400 million in losses during the second quarter, which accounted for half of the total losses of around $800 million for that period, significantly exceeding the losses from the same period last year. Although incidents involving private key leaks have decreased and attacks exploiting code vulnerabilities remain at historical averages, vigilance is still required for major cases like the Cetus Protocol.
