After United States (US) President Donald Trump announced that XRP would enter the US National Crypto Reserve on March 2 at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference, the price of XRP briefly surged 38% to US$3 and its market capitalization surpassed US$150 billion.
This announcement triggered a surge in investor interest and marked a significant shift in US crypto policy, with Trump promising to make America a hub for the global crypto industry.
The price increase coincided with Ripple's routine unlock of 1 billion XRP, where 700 million XRP was immediately locked back into escrow to maintain supply and price stability.
For information, XRP was at US$2.19 and recorded an 8.84% increase over the week, with Bitcoin (BTC) now at its resistance level of US$108,554 on Monday (30/06).
